as an ecofuturist and ecopunk establishment who believes in reparations + land back on the way to our eventual peaceful anarchy, flower house strives to uplift + support work that contributes to a symbiotic environment in a deeply considerate and meaningful way, celebrates radical self love and expression, and pushes back against any number of the injustices within our society, knowing that at the core the fight has always sincerely been good, beauty, and love vs. hate, ugliness, and evil.

about flower house :
flower house is a boutique publishing house, gallery, and shop (at the moment, with room for growth). as a publishing house, flower house seeks to disrupt what founder meghan esther giles sees as a predatory publishing industry, and to work with a small number of authors on an invite-only basis.
besides the following clause in the publishing agreement:
"ethics and code of conduct:
flower house chooses to only work with people who align with flower house on certain values. [author's name] herby agrees that [they/she/he] and [their/his/her] work neither condones nor perpetuates nor supports an anti-ecofuturist or anti-ecopunk agenda. flower house has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy, and such unacceptable behavior results in immediate termination of our agreement. such UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR includes but is not limited to these actions : using hate speech, racism, abusive behavior, sexism, 2slgbtqia+ phobia, hatred, ableism, anti immigrant sentiments, thinking humans are better than other life, fascism, pedophilia, war crimes, colonial and confederate mentalities, bigotry, etc.
flower house will ALWAYS believe and take credible victim accounts seriously and to heart and will NEVER knowingly support an abuser or otherwise shitty person.
upon signing this agreement, [author's name] is thus also legally claiming that [she/he/they] and [his/her/their] work will have NONE of the above unacceptable behavior, at all, ever, for any reason,"
flower house otherwise partakes in zero gatekeeping whatsoever with their authors. authors also do not have to exclusively work with flower house or anything like that. flower house authors simply let meghan know when a project is ready, then they work together to figure out details and a publishing timeline.
unlike most other publishing houses, at flower house, authors retain 100% of their creative rights and the majority of their royalties, where flower house is given a percent of the overall project royalties for any creative work contributed to the project, such as cover art and voice acting for audio books. instead of rights and royalties, the founder, meghan esther giles, is given a fee to work on whatever post-production elements of the publishing process make sense for the duo, and the author is responsible for their/her/his own printing, advertising, and bookselling. other collabs, such as readings and other events, will likely happen as we see fit and can make it work and can be found by visiting the “events” tab (made viewable when there are upcoming events). you may also sign up to receive updates via an occasional newsletter via the “contact” tab. thanks!
